OLIVER! Production by The Manx Operatic Society
2024 | Production Programme
I was tasked with creating a show programme for the production of "Oliver!" performed by The Manx Operatic Society at The Gaiety Theatre. The programme will serve as an essential companion for audiences, providing insights and enhancing their experience of the performance.
The programme must include:
Synopsis: A succinct overview of the musical’s storyline, capturing the essence of "Oliver!" and highlighting its themes of hardship, hope, and the quest for belonging.
Cast Pages: Detailed profiles of the cast members, including their roles in the production, notable past performances, and any relevant background information that showcases their talents and contributions.
About the Author: A section dedicated to Charles Dickens, the original author of "Oliver Twist," highlighting his life, works, and the impact of his storytelling on literature and society.
The programme will prominently feature the existing poster as the front cover, ensuring visual cohesion. All other elements, including font styles, colours, and layout, will be tailored to match the feel and context of the poster, promoting a unified aesthetic that reflects the spirit of the production.
This programme aims not only to inform but also to engage the audience, enhancing their appreciation of the performance and the creative efforts of all involved in bringing "Oliver!" to life at The Gaiety Theatre.

The final "Oliver!" programme was a huge success, showcasing a great sense of cohesion that resonated throughout the entire production. The continuous back-and-forth collaboration between the production company and myself was critical in fine-tuning every aspect, ensuring a polished final product. This dedication paid off, as they sold well over 500 copies throughout the production's cycle, a testament to the programme's appeal and the effort invested in its creation.
This programme not only helped to inform but also engaged the audience, enhancing their appreciation of the performance.
